Thanksgiving fun!!

For Thanksgiving this year we decided to have a Thanksgiving breakfast with my family and the traditional family dinner with Kyle's family. The breakfast ended up being at our home. We had pumpkin waffles, buttermilk syrup, eggs, bacon and juice. It was so yummy. My Mom said she got all the recipes were from the Spangler's, so Thank You Spangler's. There only ended up being 14 of us with my Dad in San Diego and Jared in Idaho. It turned out to be a nice Morning with us saying oh, no you have leave we have to go to the Hoisington's. In any case we were a few minutes late to the Hoisington's sorry guys.

We went to the Hoisington's around 1 pm and had a wonderful dinner with all the fixings 2 hams 2 turkeys and everything else you think to have for Thanksgiving. We had some great visiting as usual. The kids played inside and out even in the rain. It was a fun filled afternoon.

Trunk or Treat

Our Ward this year had an early trunk or treat so here are a few pictures. It was a lot of fun. There was a carnival, Haunted House and Trunk or Treat. They are the best one place everyone comes parks their cars and you go from car to car and get your candy. The YW and YM in our ward did it this year and they did a great job.

Gramy and Papa's Halloween Party
This year my Mom and Dad decided to have a Halloween Party for the grand kids. My Dad was leaving for San Diego for awhile and wouldn't be here for Halloween. So all the kids dressed up they had a scavenger hunt and just had tons of fun playing, eating dinner and just hanging out as a family. We had a little of everything for costumes. We had a cat, pumpkin, Hannah Montana, witch, bear, lady bug, fisherman, clown, snow white and a college freshman. It was a lot of fun and I hope they do it again next year.

Belle's Family Birthday Party
On Belle's birthday I spent the day sewing these really cool super hero capes. So my Mom made the day for her by picking her up at school taking her to lunch at Mcdonalds. (where her Friend Josh just happened to be there to play with) Then my Mom let her choose where to go shopping and she picked Walmart. (you see where we shop) She picked her gift out a Locket. She was so proud of it.
Since it was taking me forever to sew my Mom made her cake for me. I love my Mom! We didn't get to celebrate right away because the girls had activity days. When they came home we had cake, ice cream and presents. I think she had a great day.

Pictures Galore
I decided to take these pictures because, I saw the girls wearing matching shirts. I then went a little crazy taking pictures. So here are just a few of the pictures. I liked a lot of them but I am the amaeture photographer in my family.
Belle's First Day of Kindergarten

Belle has been pretty nervous about going to school. So the first day I drove her to school and when we went into class she started crying. So I waited about ten minutes and she looked like she was doing all right. I waved to her and she waved back. Since she was upset about the bus I picked her up. Telling her that tomorrow she will ride the bus. Well on Tuesday I drove them to school again and walked her down and helped her put her stuff in her locker and then the teacher took her and everything was good. She rode the bus home and was okay. Wednesday and Thursday she stayed home sick. Friday Morning I was determined she was riding the bus to school. I am a mean Mom. We drive to bus stop and we thought we missed the bus but we made it. I put her on the bus crying it was so sad. She cried all the way to school and then when she arrived there was a substitute. She freaked out and wouldn't stop crying. The school called thought she wasn't feeling well still. We picked her up she seemed fine.
On Monday I made a deal with her that I would drive her for 3 days and then she had to ride the bus. So I drove her all week and she did freak out but the teacher was able to distract her. On Wednesday I found out at open house that her teacher might not be at school on Thursday. She was sick. So I warned her and it helped. I drove them all to school it was picture day. She went in the school with the girls and didn't cry. On Friday she rode the bus with her sisters to school. Yeah, she did it!!
She now loves school and can't wait until Monday. I love that girl.

When Kyle took the girls camping Belle and Lydia had their cousin over to stay the night. We played: outside, dress up, games, house, jumped on the trapoline and watched a movie. They also had ice cream cones. It was a night of wonderful fun. We have to do it again soon.

Big Girls Camping with Dad
When Kyle took all the girls camping earlier in the summer the older two girls were upset because they only wanted it to be them with their Dad. So Kyle promised the girls a camp out with just them. So they ended up going the weekend of our stake conference. The first night they actually stayed in the hotel in squeim where they swam all night and then went to dinner at Applebee's. The girls were excited because Kyle let them order from the adult menu. The next day he took them to sol duc the girls had a great time. They also went and saw some water falls. While they were crossing the hood canal bridge Kyle took pictures of the girls with their heads out the window like dogs. They loved it!! I'm not sure what else they did I wasn't there. They had a great time.

Cooking Dinner an Odd Way

On our trip home from camping with my cousins it was getting late and we thought we were going to make it to the next town for dinner. Well, on our way one child said I have to use the restroom and she wasn't giving us much time. So we stopped at the next place that happened to be a boat ramp with restrooms. When we stopped guess who was hungry Lilly so I started nursing her. When Kyle realized we were going to be there a while he decided to cook dinner. So took out his jet boil (a small camping stove for back packing). It started up and only lasted a couple of minutes due to no fuel. So then he decided to get out the Coleman camping stove and that didn't work because we had nothing to lite it with. So he remembered learning in scouts how to cook food on your engine.(see scouts is a good thing) Since we were having hot dogs and they are cooked already you are mostly heating them up he decided to try it. He put the hot dogs in foil and put them under the hood. In the mean time I changed the baby feed her some more took the other kids to the bathroom. We were now waiting for the food. So we decide to check out a park that we saw a sign for near by. So he closed the hood and we went for a drive while cooking are food. We saw a beautiful sunset. We ended up at this neat park where you can camp. It was getting dark fast so we got out our flash lights and ate are yummy dinner right out of the engine.
Camping with Cousins
This weekend we had the opportunity to go camping with my cousins and their children.
It was so much fun and my kids love to play with their second cousins. My cousin Spring set it up with her Dad and his wife and invited us along too. We ended up going to Mt. Saint Helen's. We went to the Ape Caves where we went last year. The kids loved it again as always.
We then went back to camp and had a smoked salmon tasting adventure. My cousin's Dad smoked a whole bunch of salmon a lot of different ways. We were able to try 8 different kinds and give them our best scores ranging from 1 to 10. I decided I am not that good at this I ended up with like 5 8's and a couple of 4's. After they were all tried numbers 8 and 5 won out. So next time Robert can make a lot of the one that was liked the best. It was all pretty yummy! Thanks Robert.(Uncle Butch)
My Cousins who we camped with were Spring and Harmony they are sisters. They all live in Oregon. Harmony has 2 kids one a month older then Miley and One 10 days younger then Belle. They all got along so well. They played and made forts around our tents. They made a sling shot out of a tree. The funny part was they went around finding cool rocks and then was selling them to us all for a quarter each. It was creative and we are all suckers. I think they each ended up with about a dollar. Belle and Cameron found a rock that broke in half so they each took a half home with them. They called it their friendship rock. It was so cute.
Spring is my favorite cousin we are about a year apart but, we were in the same grade. We were pretty much together all the time when we were together. It was hard since I lived here and she lived in Ashland, Oregon. So we only saw each other about 1 to 2 times a year. So being able to see each other 2 times in one month has been great. The best thing now is she has her little Sailor. She is so cute and we hope that Lilly and Sailor will be just as close.
Spring, Harmony, Dan and kids left in the afternoon to go home. We decided to drive up the mountain and see spirit lake. It was so cool to see the destruction of what a volcano can do in a matter of minutes. They still had tress standing burnt but you can now see the new growth and it is fabulous. We drove up to windy ridge and climbed the stairs to the top. It was windy but really nice. Robert and Emiko went too. It was neat we would stop and some places and they would soon be there too. It was a fun day!!

Fort Casey Fun

After a full afternoon at the park on Whidbey Island we found our way to Fort Casey in pursuit of adventure. We went and toured the Light house. Played in the bunkers and enjoyed the wonderful weather. We then left and went searching for the ferry. The ferry heading to the peninsula wasn't leaving for like 6 hours because the others were already full. So we took the Mukiteo Ferry and then went to the Southworth ferry and came home. It was a nice end to our week at Whistler.
Park on Whidbey Island

We decided to look for a park and have some lunch. We enjoyed lounging watching the kids play. It was right on the water and had a fantastic View

Narin Falls and Pemberton
We decided one day to drive to Pemberton a small town north of Whistler. There was this cute little Museum that the kids liked with a lot of antiques and stuff. On the way back we hiked into the Narin Falls. It was a nice hike with the trail along the river.
Whistler Fun Continued

One day the 2 younger girls had stayed the night with my parents. They then went up the mountain on the gondola with my Dad and Chelsea. They rode the new Gondola peak to peak lift. It goes between Blackcomb and Whistler mountains. At the lowest point between both peaks you are 10 statue of liberties from the ground. The girls and my Dad said it was a a lot of fun. I found these pictures of the gondola online during the winter but it shows you what it was like.
.
Gabby and Miley's Morning out with Dad!
So Kyle and the older girls went out for the morning. They rode their bikes all over the village. They bought slurpee's at 7 eleven. They had a huge selection of flavors there and it was cheap compared to most things at Whistler.(Kyle loves Slurpee's) They then rode to Lost Lake which has a nice beach. They had a great time. I decided to stay at the condo and do some laundry and let Lilly take her Morning nap. It was nice and peaceful.
This is the one bedroom condo that we stayed in while staying at whistler.
