Campfire At Our House

The last couple of days Kyle has been working in our yard. He has been using a bulldozer and Excavator. He has been flattening rough spots and moving rocks etc. As he was flattening an area he came across alot of boulders and he decided to make a new Camp fire pit.

So tonight we decided to have a campfire. We bought Subway Sandwiches $5 foot long what a deal. So we ate around the campfire then we made smores. It was alot of fun! We placed this fire pit on our lower property which you have to go through a trail to get to it from the house. It felt like we were camping and then we get to go back up to our house and sleep in our beds instead of a tent. The only problem with it being so close to the house is I ended up running back and forth between the house and the fire pit most of the time. Someone either had to use the restroom or I forgot something up at the house and had to go back and get it.

If any of you are in the mood for a campfire or would like to come over for smores night at the Hoisingtons please let me know.

Shout Out to Good Neighbors

All the kids after an afternoon of sprinkler fun!

My house these days has become the neighborhood play place. Usually I have two to six extra kids. It is a lot of fun for my girls they never have to go very far to have someone to play with. This neighborhood that we moved into has been great for our children.

I have one neighbor who has five children and she home schools them all. I admire her I think I would go crazy. I need that break when my kids go to school.

Kyle's best friend lives right next door. I have known both of them since Jr. High. They are so fun and we are so glad we bought this land with them. We were able to get a good deal on the land if there were two buyers to buy the two lots. They have two boys that are so funny. We love Josh and Stephanie. We are so blessed to have great neighbors.

Shasta the Cleaner and Happier Dog

Before

After

Today we decided to take our Dog Shasta to the groomers. She has been so dirty and she had so much hair and was so hot. She kept finding mud holes around the yard to get cool. So we bit the bullet and paid to have her haircut. The Groomers did a good job. She really doesn't look like the same dog. I had to do a double take when I picked her up. She is now getting a lot more attention from the family now and she is loving it. I also think she will be a lot cooler.

Kitten Name Change.

Lolly is on the left and Ella is on the right.

We decided that Molly and Lolly were to closely sounding the same and changed Molly to Ella. They decided to name her Ella and it is short for Gabriella which is from High School Musical.

Kids and the things they think!

My children every night as they go to sleep they listen to tapes or CD about people or stories. A couple nights ago they were listening to a tape about Wilford Woodruff.(one of our prophets) In the story they were talking about how he was bitten by a rabid dog. So that night both girls had nightmares about being bitten or someone else being bitten by a rabbit dog.(A half rabbit half dog creature I guess) In the morning Kyle explained that a rabid dog is a dog with rabies. We all laughed. They are so cute. I thought this was so funny so I thought you might all get a laugh.

Kittens Names

Well, we found out yesterday that we actually have two female kittens. So one is named Lolly that is the name our 4 year old picked out and it stuck. Now the other cat has had some different names but we voted yesterday and the name they picked is Molly. So we now have a Lolly and a Molly. I am sure to get these two names mixed up. It does sound cute!

New Members of Our family

There is a short story to go along with these very adorable kittens. The girls have been asking me for about a year or more for a cat. I would always make up an excuse. The main one was we already have too many pets. We have a dog and a bird. They would say that was okay. I said we would have to wait until we had less animals. Well about a month and half ago our love bird Kodak died. So about a week later Belle said, can we get a cat and I said no. All 3 older girls have asked me at different times. So why do you ask that I have a change of heart.

Well, lets just say rats and mice are my motivators. You see we live on some property with lots of trees and grass and animals. We discovered that over the winter they decided that our crawl space was a great place to live. So Kyle put out some traps with peanut butter. He caught a rat and when I say rat he was almost a foot long. Now that grossed me out and since that first rat he has caught 7 more. None were quite as big as the first one. He actully caught two in one trap. We also found a nest. This is so gross I am just glad they are under the house and not in the house. So I am now the proud owner of two cute kittens. Which we hope will be great mouse cats. I wanted one but Kyle went to get them with the girls and brought back two. Well, now they can play with each other.

The girls were ecstatic and happy to have the kittens Belle decided to name one lolly and we are still trying to name the male. Do any of you have any suggestions?
