Girls Camp

This year I was able to go to Girls Camp with Gabby. This was her first year and she was very excited. I was along with 3 other ladies in charge of 17 1st year(12yr olds). They were so much fun. I loved how excited they were to do everything and learn all the camp songs and just have fun!

I was Lucky to be able to work with one of my friends who since I moved out of her ward we don't see each other very often. We had so much fun together!! It made everything bareable.

Gabby had a fabulous time. She made some really good friends that I think she will be friends with for a long time. She is still singing those camp songs and teaching her sisters too. I think they will know most of the songs long before they ever get to go to camp. If you see her you should ask her about the Mormon boy Rap song. It cracks me up.

I was a little nervous at first to go since we were sleeping in tents this year. It all worked out. So we will see if they ever ask me to go again.

I wish I had pictures of the mud ball they played. One girl in our ward I could only see the whites of her eyes. It was kick ball in the mud. It looked like tons of fun!! Gabby loved it!!

The crafts were fun too and they had a slip and Slide. Instead of a polar dip they did a polar slip!

I will say at the end of the week I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open and was looking forward to a shower and my bed.!

Camping Fun

We went camping this weekend with Mike, his kids, Bryce and Braden. We camped at Fort Townsend State Park. It was so cool. We stayed at the group site where we could of had a ton more people come. There was this old building in our site where they use to x-ray bombs during world war 2. Our family is standing in front of it in the collage.
When we got up in the night and walked through the building a bat started flying at Kyle to try and get his head lamp. Kind of scary.

We decided to camp at Fort Townsend and then Spend the day at Fort Warden our favorite place to go. We ended up playing on the beach. Exploring the bunker on the beach and went for a walk to the light house. We had never done that before and it was super fun.

Camping with Cousins

This weekend we had the opportunity to go camping with my cousins and their children.
It was so much fun and my kids love to play with their second cousins. My cousin Spring set it up with her Dad and his wife and invited us along too. We ended up going to Mt. Saint Helen's. We went to the Ape Caves where we went last year. The kids loved it again as always.

We then went back to camp and had a smoked salmon tasting adventure. My cousin's Dad smoked a whole bunch of salmon a lot of different ways. We were able to try 8 different kinds and give them our best scores ranging from 1 to 10. I decided I am not that good at this I ended up with like 5 8's and a couple of 4's. After they were all tried numbers 8 and 5 won out. So next time Robert can make a lot of the one that was liked the best. It was all pretty yummy! Thanks Robert.(Uncle Butch)

My Cousins who we camped with were Spring and Harmony they are sisters. They all live in Oregon. Harmony has 2 kids one a month older then Miley and One 10 days younger then Belle. They all got along so well. They played and made forts around our tents. They made a sling shot out of a tree. The funny part was they went around finding cool rocks and then was selling them to us all for a quarter each. It was creative and we are all suckers. I think they each ended up with about a dollar. Belle and Cameron found a rock that broke in half so they each took a half home with them. They called it their friendship rock. It was so cute.

Spring is my favorite cousin we are about a year apart but, we were in the same grade. We were pretty much together all the time when we were together. It was hard since I lived here and she lived in Ashland, Oregon. So we only saw each other about 1 to 2 times a year. So being able to see each other 2 times in one month has been great. The best thing now is she has her little Sailor. She is so cute and we hope that Lilly and Sailor will be just as close.

Spring, Harmony, Dan and kids left in the afternoon to go home. We decided to drive up the mountain and see spirit lake. It was so cool to see the destruction of what a volcano can do in a matter of minutes. They still had tress standing burnt but you can now see the new growth and it is fabulous. We drove up to windy ridge and climbed the stairs to the top. It was windy but really nice. Robert and Emiko went too. It was neat we would stop and some places and they would soon be there too. It was a fun day!!

Dosiwallup Camping

A couple weeks ago Kyle took all 4 girls hiking and camping. I stayed home with Lilly it was nice. It was at first going to just be a hike with just Gabby, and Miley and maybe Belle. Then Lydia wanted to go but Kyle said she couldn't because she wears diapers. Soon after that she started going on the toilet. She has been doing pretty good with a few accidents a week. So of course he had to take her.
So they all ended up going.

When he decided to take all the girls up he thought someone else should go up with him so he asked one of his friends from work Michael Shipley. So they all went up together. They are also members of the church and my girls just adored his older daughter. They think she is so cool.

Kyle decided on Dosiwallups because of the waterfalls and because the trail is an old road that washed out. So he decided to take the jogger stroller. The trail was approximately 6 miles in and out of course. So my 10, 8, 5 and 3yr. old did a 12 mile hike. Lydia rode in the stroller some of the way and then they would take off their packs and she would walk. Each of the older girls carried there own clothes and sleeping bags and even some of the food. Belle carried a pack as well with some of her clothes and Lydia had a pack too. They had a great time. On the way up Belle ended up getting a blister on her foot and wore flip flops the rest of the time. So on the way down the mountain Belle and Lydia ended up riding down. There is a nice picture in the slide show.

Next year we will see where he decides to go and I will decide if it will be worth it to take a 1 year old on. It may be a few years before I get to go with them. We have been slowly buying gear for me. I have a hiking sleeping bag and that's about it. I can't wait to go camping with them!!

Kyle is trying to at least do one back packing trip a year with the girls. It was a nice trip for all of them and I was able to relax just a little.

Spring Break 2009

We decided to go to Zion's Camp for Spring Break. Since I was due so close to Spring Break. It was close enough that I felt comfortable about being not at home. We usually do something fun for Spring Break. We stayed in the Family Cabin. It was a lot of fun.
We went on the row boats and biked and played on the toys. Saturday it rained all day but the kids still had fun reading playing games and riding their bikes in the rain. I stayed inside because being as big and uncomfortable as I was I wasn't going to play in the rain. On saturday night I started having contractions at like 2am and they kept coming for an hour about 10 min apart. I started praying they would stop. I didn't want to leave from there to the hospital. They did stop and we were able to pack up okay and make it to church in Belfair Ward with Janene. ( Kyle's sister)

We had a great time and will soon return for more camping fun!!

Horse Camp Camping

Starting the 1st of August we left on our Family Vacation to the Oregon Coast with stop in Corvallis to see some cousins. On our way down we decided to stay our first night near Mt. Saint Helens. We kind of left a little late so we ended up camping near the bottom of the mountain at a horse camp. There was horses camped all around us. I was a little worried about the horses being to loud. I think it ended up our kids being the loud ones.

Kyle and girls at our Campsite

We went on a small hike at the horse camp and we found this water fall.
