Happy 18th Anniversary

For our anniversary we decided to take a trip to the San Juan islands.

  21 years ago a week before Kyle left on his mission. He surprised me with a date. He took me on an small airplane  Orcas Island. We rented bikes and rode awhile and ended up on the beach enjoying  the sun. We then ate at a restaurant for lunch and then flew home. It was a fun adventure and an amazing date.

So Kyle decided we needed to go back. This time we started on Thursday and camped at deception point state park on Whidbey Island. The next morning we woke up and caught the 10:50 boat from Anacortes to Friday Harbor on San Juan island. We had a nice Ferry Ride.

We then headed to the little cottage on a 15 acre farm. It was so nice and fun. They had the sweetest dogs. They love it when you bring your dog. It was just the two of us this time...

We then checked out San Juan island.  We first walked the streets and looked at many cute shops. We were then told of 2 lighthouses and some old forts. So we decided to check them out.

We first drove down to American Fort. There was a visitors center there where we learned about the pig war.

Crazy Hair day

Another spirit Day at school. It was so fun. CRAZY HAIR DAY.

Belle's Science Project

What liquids dissolves peeps the fastest.  Her hypothesis was that coke would dissolve it first.  She was wrong.  Peppermint tea won in all 3 trials. I thought for sure vinegar would win. Vinegar made them grow bigger and then became shinier. I had peeps on my counter for almost 3 weeks. 

Erik's Birthday

Erik's Birthday party we all got together for DQ ice cream cake.

Sunday walk at Manchester

It was a lovely sunny day so after church and lunch we decided to go for a walk. We normally just walk on our street but, Kyle insisted on us going to the park with the dog. It was so nice. Kyle texted Steve so Simon rode his bike down and surprised us. It was so fun!
Later I texted Steve and he and Moira joined us. We then went back to their house so Lilly the dog could play with their dogs. We visited in the sun.  It was so nice to relax. We then came home for my brother Erik to come to dinner..

Mismatch Day

At school for a fun day at school it was Miss match day. So this is how they went to school. Lilly put on a teal skirt later so it clashed more. My favorite was little man's hair half combed nice and half a mess.

Grandpa Brown

I found this picture of my grandpa and Belle.  Oh how I miss him. It has been 2 years since he passed away.  He loved Dr. Pepper he was always carrying around a huge cup full of Dr. Pepper.  He could make this whistle that sounded like a train. My cousins son actually called him grandpa whoo whoo. He loved his 10 children and wife so much. They had 7 girls and 3 boys. My Dad was the oldest boy. He was always worried about his kids. 

He would never go to the beach.  One time when I came for a visit he came with me. We talked and walked along the beach. I didn't realize until later he never went to the beach.

He was from Oklahoma.  He moved to California at age 16 to find work. He made twice the money in California then he could of in Oklahoma.
He was a hard worker after he retired he was still doing cement work on the side. A neighbor moved and left their house. My Grandpa mowed their lawn for 30 years. He worked in the steel mill for 40 years.
He was the hardest worker I know.
